Performance "Dimanche" by Focus Cie & Compagnie Chaliwaté, at the Schauspielhaus Zurich: An ordinary family, on an ordinary Sunday morning. Suddenly the walls begin to shake, heavy rain and massive gusts of wind start to rage outside. Simultaneously three filmmakers are trying to document the end of the world in the arctic wilderness, as they capture images of the last animals threatened by extinction.
The piece "Dimanche" paints an impressive and visually inspiring picture of a society that is being conquered by forces of nature that can no longer be controlled. The piece poses the question of how long we can hold on to ordinary Sunday activities while the world outside our windows is coming to an end. Witty and forceful, "Dimanche" urges us to be aware of the signs of global warming.
11h30–13h
Lunch at the festival center at the Chocherey (by appointment, under tickets) or with a self-brought picnic. Free time at the festival center with various games.
13h–15h
Workshop based on themes from the play "Dimanche": The climate crisis requires people to adapt and use resources more sparingly. As the play shows, the collapse comes faster than planned. But the climate crisis also requires that appropriate climate laws be written. This usually takes a long time, since the legal mills grind slowly, as we all know. Together with representatives of the Climate Strike Zurich, we want to find out in a workshop what we can do together in the climate crisis to drive social change.
